By this time, as we were preparing to launch, I would fly to LAX and then drive to Vandenberg.  The drive was about three hours and there were times when I would go out with friends in Los Angeles and then have to drive to Vandenberg at three or four in the morning.  That was a difficult drive as it is a very dark drive, but I persevered.  The Rocket was mated and rolled out for photo ops, which I attended.  Other than that, most of my time was spent trying to entertain myself.

Fred working.  I would come over and he would be working long into the afternoon. A close up of Fred speaking with Clients. This is the view outside of Fred's front window.  He has a great place, it is certainly small, but really nicely done and in a fantastic location.

Fred shows a bottle of Vodka that a Business Associate has sent him.  Neither of us drink so it was just stored someplace. Bear the Cat.  I could not stand the blinds down in the Living Room so I would always open them.  As soon as I did, the Cats would immediately park themselves at the window. Another photo of Bear the Cat.

This is the interesction of Catalina and Garnet Streets.  I am guessing we are just driving around. This is Garnet Street.  From Catalina you make a Left ( at least where were ) and drive all the way to Pacific Coast Hwy and Garnet.  Fred is at the intersection. This is Fred's house from the window of the car.

This is the Fred House.  Fred has to unlock the door and turn off the alarm before I come in. Mini Bear.  Mini was a stray that Fred and Suzie adopted.  She is a nice cat, but very shy.

Bear and Mini Bear.  They had a tenuous relationship.  The Mini Bear wanted to walk outside and Bear will usually sneak up on her, so she is watching him. More Mini Bear sneaking out. Mini Bear.  Notice my laptop all set up and checking mail.  I set up a wireless network so we could all be online at the same time.

Mini gets atop the refridgerator as Bear can not get up there.  From there she eats and sleeps. Bear hanging out in the kitchen. Fred in his office.  The office is actually sunk about three feet down from the rest of the house and when you stand atop the steps, you can really look straight down.
