By October, I was getting accustomed to traveling to California.

BWI Airport, Baltimore MD. BWI Airport, Baltimore MD. Flight to California.

The baggage Claim area of LAX. The shuttle bus area just outside of the baggage claim. My home for two weeks.  I still had my old suitcase.  I had to buy a giant Samsonite roller case.

This is the view outside of my hotel room. My hotel room.  Typically, when I got the two bed room, I used one just to lay out my stuff and the other for sleeping.  Suzie and Fred came to see me at the hotel and take me out to dinner.  This is in the lobby.

Fred's living room.  I hated those little lamps. Fred getting ready to go someplace. Fred's speakers.  He believed that they had value and wanted to sell them.

Fred's cheap speakers. Suzie and some friends were creating a movie called "Women with Beards" and held a fund raiser.  The women in the cast wore beards for the occasion. Fred and I went upstairs and looked around the converted factory.  It was fairly Spartan, lots of concrete and steel.  I had to wonder what it was like to live in the place.

We also hung around outside and you could see the lights of Hollywood from where we were.  I again tried my camera tricks.  This is kind of the skyline.

Suzie's friend, her name escapes me, reads off winners of the raffle. Suzie and her friend award presents to those in attendance.  I won free Yoga classes.  I still have the Chit.

Fred working on his laptop computer. Fred's entertainment center. My rental car in the early morning.  It was typical for it to be covered with dew at that time of the day.
Holiday Inn Express, Redondo Beach CA. Torrance, California. Torrance California.
My Rental car.  Notice the GPS antenna on the inside of the window.  That was a disaster and I ended up getting a Garmin model. Suzie's boss at Planet Yoga had a party and we went.  They were fake hippies and somewhat amusing.  Most of the "hippies" actually worked for defense contractors in the area. Mandy and Fred sitting around while some Chinese dude played the violin.  We should have put the hockey game on.

People sitting around in the living room. We went walking around and I tried to take some night photos. Another try at the trick photo.

Bill Hansell.  Fred, when he holds a camera, immediately turns it sideways for the photo.  It is annoying. After the Chinese dude finished playing his violin, this next guy got his guitar and played folk songs.  Feats of strength would have been more entertaining. While waiting for our table to open up at Rivera, we went next door to a souvenir shop that was dressed up as a surf shop.
